Summary

Coordinates the activities, procedures and workflow of the functions within the HIM department. Assists in coverage of positions within area of responsibility to ensure the accurate and timely collection, access, and retention of patient health information for continuity of patient care.

Qualifications

Education

High School Diploma or GED is required.Associates degree in health information technology, health information management or a related field is preferred.

Experience

2 years of related experience in a healthcare setting is required.

Certifications, Licenses and Registrations

Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) is required.

In lieu of certification, two years of related experience in a healthcare setting is required.
