Summary
RN Residency is now open for New Grad RNs that are graduating in Winter 2024
New Grad Residency Program Overview:
The nurse residency program at HSHS St. John’s Hospital offers a dynamic and engaging experience that will positively impact the nurse’s ability to provide quality, compassionate care to patients as the new nurse transitions from student nurse to professional nurse.
Quality health care begins with developing our caregivers. The graduate residency program facilitates the transition of new nurses to professional practice with an eight to twelve week orientation that combines classroom lectures, hands-on activities, clinical scenarios including simulation and support of a highly-skilled education team. The program then transitions to monthly support sessions featuring topics that help strengthen and enable new nurses with skills and strategies to be successful in their clinical practice.
Specific Unit Residency Lengths:
- 8 week Residency for medical-surgical residents
- 10 week Residency for IMC residents
- 12 week Residency for critcal care residents
