Summary
The Clinical Informaticist I promotes the knowledge, integration and application of healthcare information technology to make solution recommendations to assist in clinical targets, the organization's vision and strategic goals, and industry best practices. This position drives the optimal, efficient and effective use of clinical information systems and technology as it relates to patient care, patient safety, user satisfaction, clinical productivity and quality outcomes. Provides basic level support to bridge the gap between people, processes, introductory clinical knowledge and technology in the inpatient and/or ambulatory settings.
Qualifications
Education
Associates degree in nursing, respiratory therapy, cardiopulmonary science or related field is required.
Bachelor’s degree in nursing, respiratory therapy, cardiopulmonary science or related field is strongly preferred.
Master’s Degree in Nursing, Informatics, Computer Science or Information Technology is preferred.
Experience
3 years of nursing, medical, allied health, information technology, training, or relevant experience is required.
Experience supporting Epic or other comparable electronic health records (EHR), and other clinical IT applications used by clinicians is preferred.
Experience in project management, workflow design, process improvement, clinical care transformation and end user education/training is preferred.
Informatics or super user experience is preferred.
Certifications, Licenses and Registrations
Current valid driver’s license is required.
Current, valid license as a Registered Nurse, Allied Health Professional, or Registered Respiratory therapist in state of practice is strongly preferred.
Certification from American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) Informatics, Certified Associate in Healthcare Information and Management Systems (CAHIMS), Certified Professional in Healthcare Information and Management Systems (CPHIMS) or other related certification is preferred.
Epic certification is preferred.
