Summary

Under the direct supervision of the registered pharmacist, and according to state and federal laws, performs a variety of tasks according to policies and procedures. The advanced-level role requires the colleague to be experienced with the Essential Job Functions of the Pharmacy Technician (2381 job code) and proficient in the Essential Functions within the Pharmacy Specialist Technician I (2595 job code) position. In addition, the colleague will perform administrative duties in one of the following areas: pharmacy purchasing, pharmacy automation, sterile compounding; or performs advanced technician functions such as validating quality assurance for other technicians.

Qualifications

Education

High School Diploma or GED is required

Associates in healthcare, business or related field is preferred

Completion of Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) recognized Educational School/Training Program is preferred

Experience

3 years pharmacy experience is required

Certifications, Licenses and Registrations

Licensed or registered Pharmacy Technician in the state of practice is required

Certified Pharmacy Technician certification must be achieved within 12 months of hire OR enrolled in a Doctorate of Pharmacy program is required

May work in a license pending status for up to 60 days
