Summary
The Biomedical Equipment Technician I (BMET I) maintains medical equipment in accordance with manufacturer's recommendations or in accordance with the Alternative Equipment Management (AEM) Plan. Performs a variety of routine tasks associated with the installation, maintenance, calibration and repair of a limited scope of biomedical equipment under the guidance and close supervision of BMET II and BMET III colleagues.
Qualifications
Education
Associates degree in biomedical technology, engineering or related discipline is required OR High School diploma plus 3 years’ experience in a related discipline OR High School diploma plus military training and experience in a related discipline will be considered in lieu of degree.
Experience
Experience as a Biomedical Equipment Technician is desired.
Certifications, Licenses and Registrations
Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET) is preferred.
Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI) is preferred.
