Welcome to the
Hospital Sisters Health System Refer a Friend Portal
We are always looking for new people with diverse talents to support the HSHS mission, please refer your friends that will passionately support this mission!
A couple of helpful tips to get you started:
- Colleagues only need to refer a friend to one job! If they aren't hired for the job you referred them to, but are hired for a different HSHS job you will still get credit for the job they were hired to.
- Unsure about what job your friend would be a fit for? Hit the "Make A Referral" button on the right side of the website and fill out the info you have. The "Search for a job" section isn't required.
Effective July 12, 2021, referrals must be entered using this online platform in order to qualify for a reward. The referral must be entered into the platform before the referral's first day at HSHS.

Company FAQ
Q. What is the Refer a Friend! HSHS Colleague Referral Program?
A. The Refer a Friend! HSHS Colleague Referral Program provides rewards to colleagues
who refer candidates to apply at HSHS. Effective July 12, 2021, referrals must be entered using the online employee referral platform in order to qualify for a reward.
Q. Who is eligible to participate in the Refer a Friend! Referral Program?
A. We encourage all active HSHS colleagues to refer potential talent to HSHS. However,
colleagues with influence over the recruitment of a position are not eligible to receive
a referral bonus. “Influence” may include, but is not limited to: HR colleagues with
recruitment responsibilities, direct and indirect managers/leaders over the position
and colleagues who are employed as instructors at any college or university.
Q. Who can I refer?
A. Colleagues can refer anyone to apply with HSHS! However, Refer a Friend! HSHS
Colleague Referral Program incentives will not be rewarded for temporary/agency/
search firm and/or contractual positions; current colleagues who transfer to a new
position; transfer colleagues from one HSHS ministry to another; applicants who have
been employed by HSHS directly or in a temporary/agency/search firm capacity
and/or contractual position in the last 24 months; and retirees.
Q. If I receive a referral reward, will I have to pay taxes on it?
A. Yes. All awards are subject to tax withholdings and any other applicable deductions.
Q. How will I get paid?
A. All incentives will be paid via payroll and taxed with appropriate tax withholdings. If a
colleague refers a candidate to another affiliate, the affiliate offering the incentive will
be responsible for coordinating with the payroll department at the referring colleague’s
ministry to coordinate reporting of and taxing of the reward.
Q. What else do I need to know about the program?
A. Referring colleagues must be actively employed and in good standing on the identified
milestone date (90 days after hire) in order for the referring colleague to receive incentive payout. All
referring colleagues must be actively employed on the identified milestone date for
the incentive to be distributed.
Q. Who should I contact with questions about the Refer a Friend! program?
A. You should email MyHR@hshs.org. Be sure to include your
name, colleague ID#, the name of the colleague you referred, their position, and hire
date. These details are all relevant in answering any referral program questions. Applications submitted after July 12, 2021 need to have been submitted as referrals through the online platform system to be eligible for a reward.
